Greg's Week 14 Rankings

QUARTERBACKS

1 Tony Romo DAL (at DET)
2 Tom Brady NE (vs PIT)
3 Peyton Manning IND (at BAL)
4 Brett Favre GB (vs OAK)
5 Derek Anderson CLE (at NYJ)
6 Carson Palmer CIN (vs STL)
7 Matt Hasselbeck SEA (vs ARI)
8 Drew Brees NO (at ATL)
9 Ben Roethlisberger PIT (at NE)
10 Eli Manning NYG (at PHI)
11 Marc Bulger STL (at CIN)
12 Jon Kitna DET (vs DAL)
13 David Garrard JAC (vs CAR)
14 Donovan McNabb PHI (vs NYG)
15 Kurt Warner ARI (at SEA)
16 Vince Young TEN (vs SD)
17 Jason Campbell WAS (vs CHI)
18 Jay Cutler DEN (vs KC)
19 Trent Dilfer SF (vs MIN)
20 Kellen Clemens NYJ (vs CLE)

Notes: Keep an eye on Bulger's status; if he is cleared to play, he has a great matchup against a CIN defense that is allowing 2 TD's through the air per game on average... Potential bounce back week for Eli, facing the Eagles. In his past two games against them, he had over 300 yards in both games (OT wins for the Giants in each of them), as well as a completion percentage of 67%. He may have had 3 INT's in his last game, but those were offset by a rushing TD (at least in fantasy leagues...). In what could be a potential upset of the year, if Favre is unable to play or is very limited, don't be surprised if Aaron Rodgers struggles mightily against an OAK defense that is allowing only 13.8 fantasy points per game to QB (2nd behind PITT), and is only one of two teams (SEA) to allow less than 10 passing TD's on the year... And if you're desperate for a QB this week, there are two bargain basement finds; Dilfer and Clemens both have very good matchups this week, although I wouldn't want to rely either one in the first round of the fantasy playoffs... Not Ranked Due To Injury Concerns: Jeff Garcia.

16 Earnest Graham TB (at HOU)
17 Justin Fargas OAK (at GB)
18 Adrian Peterson CHI (at WAS)
19 Frank Gore SF (vs MIN)
20 Maurice Jones-Drew JAC (vs CAR)
21 Jesse Chatman MIA (at BUF)
22 LenDale White TEN (vs SD)
23 Brandon Jacobs NYG (at PHI)
24 Travis Henry DEN (vs KC)
25 Ron Dayne HOU (vs TB)
26 Rudi Johnson CIN (vs STL)
27 Shaun Alexander SEA (vs ARI)
28 Fred Taylor JAC (vs CAR)
29 Laurence Maroney NE (vs PIT)
30 Thomas Jones NYJ (vs CLE)
31 Kevin Jones DET (vs DAL)
32 Chester Taylor MIN (at SF)
33 Warrick Dunn ATL (vs NO)
34 DeShaun Foster CAR (at JAC)
35 DeAngelo Williams CAR (at JAC)
36 Jerious Norwood ATL (vs NO)
37 Julius Jones DAL (at DET)
38 Selvin Young DEN (vs KC)
39 Chris Brown TEN (vs SD)
40 Maurice Morris SEA (vs ARI)

Notes: Tough matchup for LT, as TENN's run defense should be stronger with Haynesworth back. No reason to bench him, but it'll be interesting to see how well he does... Portis has a really nice matchup against the Bears, but as of Tuesday, his injury status was still up in the air for Thursday's game... Ryan Grant also has a great matchup, facing the worst rush defense in terms of fantasy points per game. The Raiders are allowing 167 total yards per game to RB's, along with 20 rushing TD's. If Marshawn Lynch is out again, Fred Jackson takes his place in the rankings against the soon to be 0-13 Miami Dolphins... Maroney had a nice all-around game against BAL in Monday's win, but faces a very tough opponent in the Pittsburgh Steelers. As high scoring as the Pats are, I could see this one being a 21-10 type of game, and he'll struggle to get 50 yards rushing... I don't know who is going to get more touches in the CAR backfield, but I have a hunch that JAX is going to win in a blowout anyways, so I'm not big on Foster or Williams this week...

WIDE RECEIVERS

1 Terrell Owens DAL (at DET)
2 T.J. Houshmandzadeh CIN (vs STL)
3 Randy Moss NE (vs PIT)
4 Reggie Wayne IND (at BAL)
5 Chad Johnson CIN (vs STL)

10 Wes Welker NE (vs PIT)
11 Andre Johnson HOU (vs TB)
12 Roddy White ATL (vs NO)
13 Plaxico Burress NYG (at PHI)
14 Hines Ward PIT (at NE)
15 Greg Jennings GB (vs OAK)
16 Joey Galloway TB (at HOU)
17 Bobby Engram SEA (vs ARI)
18 Donald Driver GB (vs OAK)
19 Dwayne Bowe KC (at DEN)
20 Steve Smith CAR (at JAC)
21 Laveranues Coles NYJ (vs CLE)
22 Bryant Johnson ARI (at SEA)
23 Deion Branch SEA (vs ARI)
24 Brandon Marshall DEN (vs KC)
25 Shaun McDonald DET (vs DAL)
26 Derrick Mason BAL (vs IND)
27 Kevin Curtis PHI (vs NYG)
28 Bernard Berrian CHI (at WAS)
29 Mike Furrey DET (vs DAL)
30 Justin Gage TEN (vs SD)
31 Patrick Crayton DAL (at DET)
32 Isaac Bruce STL (at CIN)
33 Chris Chambers SD (at TEN)
34 Santana Moss WAS (vs CHI)
35 Amani Toomer NYG (at PHI)
36 Chris Henry CIN (vs STL)
37 Calvin Johnson DET (vs DAL)
38 Sidney Rice MIN (at SF)
39 Brandon Stokley DEN (vs KC)
40 Dennis Northcutt JAC (vs CAR)

Notes: It'll be interesting to see how Moss and Welker fare this week against PITT, as the Steelers are only allowing 154 yards per game through the air. If Polamalu is out again, it'll be a different story... Roddy White is nearing WR1 status, with two monster games in a row: 16 catches, 250 yards, and 2 TD's in his last 2. This week should be no different against the Saints... For all the publicity DEN's secondary receives, it is interesting to see that only NO, MIA, and the Jets allow a higher YPA. Look for Bowe to catch at least one long one from Croyle on Sunday... As mentioned in our WW column on Tuesday, Bryant Johnson might be option #1 for Warner on Sunday. 80 yards on 5-6 catches seems about right. Derrick "I play for the cry baby Ravens" Mason has a really tough matchup on a short week against INDY. I never root for the Colts, but after the way the Ravens handled themselves after the loss to NE, I hope they get smoked by Manning & Co... Not Ranked Due To Injury Concerns: Santonio Holmes, Marvin Harrison, Javon Walker, Anquan Boldin, Arnaz Battle.

TIGHT ENDS

1 Tony Gonzalez KC (at DEN)
2 Kellen Winslow CLE (at NYJ)
3 Jason Witten DAL (at DET)
4 Antonio Gates SD (at TEN)
5 Chris Cooley WAS (vs CHI)
6 Dallas Clark IND (at BAL)
7 Jeremy Shockey NYG (at PHI)
8 Heath Miller PIT (at NE)
9 Owen Daniels HOU (vs TB)
10 Donald Lee GB (vs OAK)
11 Desmond Clark CHI (at WAS)
12 Benjamin Watson NE (vs PIT)
13 Alge Crumpler ATL (vs NO)
14 Zach Miller OAK (at GB)
15 Vernon Davis SF (vs MIN)
16 Marcedes Lewis JAC (vs CAR)
17 Eric Johnson NO (at ATL)
18 Leonard Pope ARI (at SEA)
19 Tony Scheffler DEN (vs KC)
20 Chris Baker NYJ (vs CLE)

Notes: Tony G. gets to face the same defense that allowed Zach Miller to have a strong game last week. As mentioned in the past, Croyle looks his way far less than Huard, but I suspect that he took good notes during last week's game, and will find a way to get Gonzalez the ball 6+ times against DEN. Gates gets to follow up his 1 catch for negative 1 yard performance against the 2nd best team in fantasy points allowed to TE's. TENN is allowing an average of just 4 catches for 36 yards per game, with only 2 TD's allowed on the season. He won't be as bad as last week, but I don't expect him to have a huge game... Last week Miller got to face the 3rd worst fantasy defense vs. TE's, and this week he gets to face the worst (GB). Look for #'s similar to last week, maybe a bit higher in the yardage department... Alge Crumpler came out of his shell with Redman at QB last week, and may prove to be fantasy relevant again. I don't know that he'll get targeted as often, but he should have a nice game...
