Pittsburgh at St. Louis
Start: Torry Holt, STL - Not too much to like on the Rams side this week, so we'll go with a guy that produces week in, week out, no matter who his QB is. You're probably starting Holt no matter what anyways this week, but he does have a very tough matchup. Regardless, I think he'll still put up solid #'s. His splits this year are interesting; in his first 7 games, he had 40 catches, 466 yards, and 3 TD's. In his last 7, he had just 3 more catches, but 123 more yards and 1 more TD. I don't know if he'll score this week, but 6 catches for 85 yards seems about right (I'm not too worried about the injury talk, as he's been dealing with it all year)...
Prediction: 6 catches, 85 yards 0 TD's.
Bench: Santonio Holmes, PITT - Hmm… Where should we start? In his last 4 games, Holmes has averaged just 4 catches for 44 yards per game with just 1 TD. On the season, one-third of his yards, and 4 of his 7 TD's came in two games. Throw in the fact that he still doesn't seem to be 100%, and that he probably won't have to play much in the 2nd half because the Steelers will be up big, and you have yourself a strong bench candidate for this week...
Prediction: 5 catches, 60 yards, 0 TD's.

What makes you so sure that this is going to be a blowout? The Steelers have looked awful the last month to month and a half, while the Rams have been playing much better of late. This game will be close throughout and don't be suprised if we see an upset baby!
I agree....I'd love to see the Rams beat the bag out of the Hamburgler, and the rest of the Steelers, and I think they can pull it off. I think Greg needs to make his posts a little later. These 5:38 AM posts seem a little groggy to me. Greg, catch a few more Z's and make your post during lunch.....
Well thanks for agreeing with me. Since I just had surgery and can't talk I've been just searching the web for sites like this to respond with all my sports knowledge. I always root for the underdog baby and that's what's got me all juiced up about Greg's comment(not Rocket Clemens or Bonds juiced I should say). This one is my diaper dandy of the week guarantee. The Rams will win this game baby. Bulger will be a PTP tonight and lead the Rams to a classic win over the Steelers! Until next time.....
Thanks for the comments guys! Dicky V, good to see that you're hitting the blogs - we'll miss you on Mike and Mike... Okay, so here's where I breakdown the blowout that's about to occur...
The Steelers are favored by 8 this week, although seeing that the home team always starts with 3, Vegas thinks that PITT will win by 11. The Steelers have played two of the 5 best teams in the NFL the past two weeks (Sorry, the Jags would beat Dallas, and possibly GB), so you can't fault their play too much. And prior to that they were 5-1 in their past 6 games... They still have the #1 overall defense in the NFL, and allow the least amount of points in the league...
On the flip side, the Rams are the 4th lowest scoring team in the league, 1-6 at home, 0-3 against the AFC this year, 2nd worst record in the NFL, could only put up 10 points against the woeful Bengals defense 2 weeks ago, started the year 0-8, etc, etc... Needless to say, I'll be wagering on the Steelers to cover this week. I'll be back to serve some of Belichick's humble pie tomorrow...
