Greg's Week 10 Rankings

QUARTERBACKS

1 Peyton Manning (at SD)
2 Brett Favre (vs MIN)
3 Tony Romo (at NYG)
4 Ben Roethlisberger (vs CLE)
5 Drew Brees (vs STL)
6 Matt Hasselbeck (vs SF)
7 Carson Palmer (at BAL)
8 Derek Anderson (at PIT)
9 Donovan McNabb (at WAS)
10 Eli Manning (vs DAL)
11 Marc Bulger (at NO)
12 Kurt Warner (vs DET)
13 Jon Kitna (at ARI)
14 J.P. Losman (at MIA)
15 Jay Cutler/Patrick Ramsey (at KC)
16 Jason Campbell (vs PHI)
17 Philip Rivers (vs IND)
18 Steve McNair (vs CIN)
19 Damon Huard (vs DEN)
20 Brian Griese (at OAK)

Notes: Favre has a fantastic matchup this week; in his last 7 games against MINN, he is averaging just over 300 yards and 2 TD's per game. Big Ben has a great matchup as well, facing a CLE defense allowing 2.6 TD's passing per week, tied for last in the NFL with CINCI. Look for Kevin Jones to get a lot of carries this week, as Kitna is facing a ARI defense that is 5th in yards allowed through the air each week. And finally, Rivers owners should be very worried this week (as if they weren't already). Check this stat out:

In SD's 4 wins, Rivers has averaged 20 attempts, 187 yards passing, with 5 TD's and 2 INT's.
In SD's 4 losses, he has averaged 38 attempts, 223 yards passing, with 5 TD's and 6 INT's.
His YPA in their wins has been 9.4, which is fantastic. In the 4 losses? 5.9, which is absolutely miserable. And considering that INDY is only allowing 5.6 YPA (#1 overall), Rivers may be in for a long, long game...

1 Joseph Addai (at SD)
2 LaDainian Tomlinson (vs IND)
3 Willie Parker (vs CLE)
4 Marshawn Lynch (at MIA)
5 Adrian Peterson (at GB)

9 Edgerrin James (vs DET)
10 Marion Barber (at NYG)
11 LenDale White (vs JAC)
12 Steven Jackson (at NO)
13 Cedric Benson (at OAK)
14 Clinton Portis (vs PHI)
15 Brandon Jacobs (vs DAL)
16 Kevin Jones (at ARI)
17 Travis Henry (at KC)
18 Justin Fargas (vs CHI)
19 Priest Holmes (vs DEN)
20 Shaun Alexander (vs SF)
21 DeShaun Foster (vs ATL)
22 Maurice Jones-Drew (at TEN)
23 Jamal Lewis (at PIT)
24 Kenny Watson (at BAL)
25 Ryan Grant (vs MIN)
26 Julius Jones (at NYG)
27 Jesse Chatman (vs BUF)
28 Rudi Johnson (at BAL)
29 Selvin Young (at KC)
30 DeAngelo Williams (vs ATL)
31 Warrick Dunn (at CAR)
32 Fred Taylor (at TEN)
33 Adrian Peterson (at OAK)
34 Chester Taylor (at GB)
35 Maurice Morris (vs SF)
36 Michael Robinson/Maurice Hicks (at SEA)
37 Kenton Keith (at SD)
38 LaMont Jordan (vs CHI)
39 Jerious Norwood (at CAR)
40 Kolby Smith (vs DEN)

Notes: After what AP did to SD last week, Addai must be drooling in anticipation of avenging last week's loss against the Pats. I don't think he'll put up 300 yards, but 180 total yards and 2 TD's is entirely possible... I'm assuming that Gore won't be playing this week, which is why he isn't on the list. Also on the list for possibly the last time this year is LaMont Jordan, who has fallen quickly after such an amazing start to the year... Keep an eye on McGahee's status, as he has a great matchup against a CINCI rush defense that is allowing over 140 yards per game on the ground. Marshawn Lynch has fallen under the radar a bit this year due to AP, but he is on pace for almost 1,400 yards and 10 TD's. I actually like his matchup better than Peterson's for this week, with MIA allowing almost 36 carries per game.... Although he has been a severe disappointment (as expected), Cedric Benson may finally have a good game this week against the hapless Raiders run defense. If he can't put up 100 yards against them, then it is time for the other AP to get a crack at the starting RB job in CHI. OAK is allowing a staggering 5.1 yards per carry, and is one of only 3 teams to give up an average of at least 1 rushing TD per game... Finally, although Jamal Lewis has some nice matchups the rest of the way, this isn't one of them. It wouldn't surprise me if he puts up the same #'s as last week, minus the 4 TD's, making him a must bench in just about any league...

WIDE RECEIVERS

1 Reggie Wayne (at SD)
2 T.J. Houshmandzadeh (at BAL)
3 Braylon Edwards (at PIT)
4 Terrell Owens (at NYG)
5 Plaxico Burress (vs DAL)
6 Larry Fitzgerald (vs DET)
7 Santonio Holmes (vs CLE)
8 Torry Holt (at NO)
9 Marques Colston (vs STL)
10 Greg Jennings (vs MIN)
11 Hines Ward (vs CLE)
12 Derrick Mason (vs CIN)
13 Donald Driver (vs MIN)
14 Anquan Boldin (vs DET)
15 Brandon Marshall (at KC)
16 Roy Williams (at ARI)
17 Steve Smith (vs ATL)
18 Bobby Engram (vs SF)
19 Kevin Curtis (at WAS)
20 Roddy White (at CAR)
21 D.J. Hackett (vs SF)
22 Lee Evans (at MIA)
23 Chris Chambers (vs IND)
24 Deion Branch (vs SF)
25 Ronald Curry (vs CHI)
26 James Jones (vs MIN)
27 Shaun McDonald (at ARI)
28 Patrick Crayton (at NYG)
29 Chris Henry (at BAL)
30 Bernard Berrian (at OAK)
31 David Patten (vs STL)
32 Antwaan Randle El (vs PHI)
33 Dwayne Bowe (vs DEN)
34 Reggie Brown (at WAS)
35 Brandon Stokley (at KC)
36 Calvin Johnson (at ARI)
37 Nate Burleson (vs SF)
38 Jerry Porter (vs CHI)
39 Isaac Bruce (at NO)
40 Muhsin Muhammad (at OAK)

Notes: I'm assuming that both Harrison and Chad Johnson will both be out this week. With Johnson, I think he's more injured than CINCI is telling us... As usual, start all WR's facing MINN this week, including James Jones. Jennings & Driver may both go for over 100 yards receiving... Look for a healthy dose of Plaxico, as Amani Toomer is only averaging 4 catches and 40 yards receving in his last 5 games against DAL. Here's an interesting stat: Miami is only allowing 8.6 catches per game to WR's (only DEN, OAK, & GB are better), but they are giving up 1.5 TD's per game to WR's, 2nd worst in the league. So although BUF will be pounding the ball w/Lynch, watch for Lee Evans to have another solid game, with at least 1 TD... I really wanted to put Derrick Mason in the top 10 this week, but have zero confidence in whoever is throwing to him. In his last two games against CINCI, Evans has 14 catches, 166 yards, and 1 TD. Gusto will probably have him ranked 33rd though... Between the fact that ATL is halfway decent against the pass, allowing only 10 receptions per game to WR's, and the QB situation in CAR, I really don't like Steve Smith at all this week. Finally, Bowe has a really tough matchup against DEN this week. And after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 9, he is probably going to be a bit hobbled as well.

TIGHT ENDS

1 Antonio Gates (vs IND)
2 Tony Gonzalez (vs DEN)
3 Heath Miller (vs CLE)
4 Kellen Winslow (at PIT)
5 Jason Witten (at NYG)
6 Dallas Clark (at SD)
7 Donald Lee (vs MIN)
8 Jeremy Shockey (vs DAL)
9 Tony Scheffler (at KC)
10 Desmond Clark (at OAK)
11 Chris Cooley (vs PHI)
12 Bo Scaife (vs JAC)
13 Greg Olsen (at OAK)
14 Vernon Davis (at SEA)
15 Viscante Shiancoe (at GB)
16 Jeff King (vs ATL)
17 Randy McMichael (at NO)
18 Eric Johnson (vs STL)
19 Justin Peelle (vs BUF)
20 David Martin (vs BUF)

Notes: I'm assuming Todd Heap isn't going to play again, although if he does, he'd be in the top 10 this week... In what comes as no surprise, MINN has been dreadful in defending against TE's, allowing just under 75 yards per game. Look for Donald Lee to have another strong week against the Vikes... Heath Miller is almost a sure bet to score a TD this week, as CLE is the only team to allow an average of 1 or more TD's to TE's this year... One sleeper I really like this week is Bo Scaife. Yes, I realize how brutal Vince Young has been (he wasn't in my top 20 this week). However, Scaife has 14 catches in his last 3 games, and JAX is allowing a league worst 14.2 yards per catch to TE's this year. You could do far worse at TE this week... A bonus sleeper is Viscante Shiancoe, facing a GB defense that is allowing an average of 10.4 fantasy points per game against TE's, 2nd worst behind Denver. And finally, I don't like Vernon Davis's matchup this week, as the Seahawks have only allowed a total of 21 receptions and 3 TD's against TE's in 8 games this year....
